Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has provided a fresh injury update ahead of the Premier League clash against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Red Devils played out a frustrating 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 last night.
Joshua Zirkzee broke the deadlock before the hour mark. United looked good value to secure a victory before Sociedad were handed a penalty.
Bruno Fernandes was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box. Despite the close proximity, the referee gave a penalty after a VAR review.
United have everything to play for in the second leg at home next week. Prior to that game, the club have a huge clash versus the Gunners in the league.
Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte were ruled out against Sociedad with minor injuries. When asked about team news, Amorim seemed doubtful.
He said (via Beanyman Sports): “I don’t know. I don’t think so, so we’ll see.”
However, the Portuguese tactician was hopeful that some of the injured players will be available before the end of the ongoing campaign.
While Lisandro Martinez is out, Amorim said that Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire, Manuel Ugarte, Luke Shaw and Mason Mount could be available soon.
He added: “Lisandro is out. Kobbie Mainoo can return [before the end of the season]. Harry Maguire, we have to be careful.
“Manuel Ugarte will return. I think Luke Shaw and Mason Mount can return also.
“Let’s talk about Sunday and we’ll see but the others are definitely going to return, especially Mount.”
