Romano provides new update on William Saliba and Real Madrid.
William Saliba at Real Madrid in the summer?
The Gunners have been fighting for the Premier League title in the recent years. They have come very close to winning the final price but just fell short on few events.
Mikel Arteta has done a great job with the north London side. Plenty of talented players have progressed to a whole new level under the head coach. One of them being their centre-back, Saliba.
The France international has been linked with the European giants Real Madrid in the past. But transfer expert and journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that he is not going anywhere. The Italian suggests that the defender is staying at the Emirates for the time being. Romano has confirmed that Real Madrid admire the player as he is one of the best in the world in his position. Although, there are no signs of any offer or deal at the moment.
In GiveMeSport newsletter Fabrizio wrote: “Real Madrid like Saliba, we mentioned that; but there’s nothing more to say at the moment. No talks, no negotiations, he’s key player for Arsenal and nothing is really happening apart from appreciating one of the best defenders in the world.”
William Saliba to stay at Arsenal
The 23-year-old defender has been at his best since the past two-three seasons. He is one of the most key players in the Gunners’ squad. He sees the Los Blancos as his dream club. Alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, they both have been very important for Mikel Arteta in the recent years. The pair is seen as one of the best defensive duos in the world right now.
The Gunners’ defensive record has been impressive in the Premier League. The Frenchman has been vital at the back for Arteta’s side. The Spaniard must be willing to keep one of his best players at the club for many years.
Also with the team in race to win titles every season, must have players of high quality. Unfortunately, the north London side have been in search of some silverware since the year 2020. And to lose a player like Saliba is something that they wouldn’t wish to happen.
