The Friedkin Group have hit the ground running since coming into power at Goodison Park in December, with Everton reaping the rewards on and off the pitch.

One of the first major decisions Dan Friedkin and Co made after buying Everton from Farhad Moshiri in December is replacing Sean Dyche with David Moyes – a move that has since paid dividends as the Toffees sit 16th in the Premier League after steering 15 points clear of the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, plans to move to the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium ahead of next season are in full swing, with a second test event with a capacity of 25,000 people scheduled on 23 March.

Perhaps the only shortcoming of the Friedkins’ spell as the owners so far is the lack of signings in the winter transfer window, with Carlos Alcaraz’s loan signing from Flamengo the only incoming at Finch Farm.

Everton set to hire Angus Kinnear

That is likely to change in the summer transfer window as Everton prepare for a new era at the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

One of the biggest signs pointing towards more signings is the Merseyside-based club’s imminent appointment of Angus Kinnear from Leeds United.

It emerged in February that the Blues are interested in hiring the CEO from the West Yorkshire outfit and David Ornstein has now confirmed that the executive is set to join the Friedkin-owned club.

The journalist reported via The Athletic website along with Beren Cross on 7 March that Leeds will appoint Peter McCormick as non-executive director in response to Kinnear’s departure.

While McCormick will start in his new role immediately, Kinnear will not leave until the end of the season, meaning Everton have to wait until the summer for his arrival.

There is no doubt that planning for the summer transfer window will already be underway at Goodison Park.

However, Kinnear’s arrival will make life easy for The Friedkin Group as he will step in to oversee the day-to-day running of the club as he has been doing at Leeds.

He will have an important part to play in Everton’s recruitment going forward, as the owners have decided against making a direct replacement for director of football Kevin Thelwell.
