Crystal Palace v Ipswich Town

Team news

Crystal Palace are without top scorer Jean-Philippe Mateta, who needed 25 stitches after being kicked in the head by Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts last weekend.

But manager Oliver Glasner is hopeful the Frenchman will recover in time for the Eagles' next game, the FA Cup tie at Fulham on 29 March.

Will Hughes begins a two-game ban after accumulating 10 yellow cards, with Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure both long-term absentees.

Ipswich defender Axel Tuanzebe is unavailable after injuring his hamstring against Nottingham Forest, while Sammie Szmodics requires ankle surgery and faces an extended spell out.

Cameron Burgess is doubtful after being forced off at the City Ground and the Blues will also monitor Kalvin Phillips, Omari Hutchinson and Julio Enciso, all of whom are nearing returns from injury.

Wes Burns, Chiedozie Ogbene and Arijanet Muric are all sidelined, while leading goalscorer Liam Delap is a booking away from a two-game suspension.

Match facts

Head-to-head

Crystal Palace are unbeaten in all five of their Premier League games against Ipswich, winning each of the past four.

This will be the first top-flight meeting at Selhurst Park since Palace's 3-0 win in November 1994, when Ricky Newman, Chris Armstrong and John Salako were all on target.

Crystal Palace

The Eagles have won seven of their last nine games in all competitions and have only lost one of 12 since Christmas.

Palace are vying to win four consecutive fixtures in all competitions for the first time since a four-match streak, interrupted by the Covid pandemic, from February to June 2020.

They have not lost any of their last 18 Premier League home games against sides starting the day in the relegation zone (W12, D6) since a 4-0 defeat by Sunderland in February 2017.

The Londoners have won five of their 40 Premier League games under Oliver Glasner by three goals or more, as many times as in their previous 128 league matches prior to his arrival.

The injured Jean-Philippe Mateta has 12 Premier League goals this season, scoring in six of Palace's nine league victories, including the only goal away to Ipswich on 3 December.

Ipswich Town

The Blues are the only side without a Premier League win this calendar year, taking two points from a possible 24.

They are in danger of failing to win any of their opening nine league matches in a calendar year for the first time.

Ipswich have dropped 22 top-flight points from winning positions this season, more than any other side.

They earned 32 points from losing positions in the Championship last term but have come from behind to claim just three points in 2024-25, the second-worst record in the Premier League.

They have kept two top-flight clean sheets this season – only Leicester, with one, have a worse record.
