Ruben Amorim refuses to rule out unleashing Man Utd talent against Arsenal, he is on his‘list’and‘can play’

Ruben Amorim has teased that one Manchester United player could feature in the upcoming Premier League showdown against Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils languish in 14th place in the Premier League table and Manchester United are now comfortably 16 points adrift from the relegation zone.

However, United’s top-four hopes are all but over and Ruben Amorim’s men are 14 points adrift from fourth-place Manchester City in the Premier League table.

The Red Devils have only managed nine league wins from 27 Premier League matches amid their poor run of form in United’s 2024-25 season.

United have won only two of their last five Premier League matches, with the Red Devils picking up one draw and suffering two defeats.

Arsenal, on the other hand, are second in the Premier League table and the Gunners are 13 points adrift of league leaders Liverpool ahead of their visit to Old Trafford.

Ruben Amorim teases Man Utd player’s role vs Arsenal

Manchester United will head into the Arsenal match only days after their 1-1 Europa League result against Real Sociedad in the first-leg last-16 tie in Spain.

Ruben Amorim deployed Rasmus Hojlund as the main striker against Real Sociedad and the United forward’s goalscoring struggles continued on the night.

Rasmus Hojlund’s goalscoring drought has now extended to 19 matches, with Amorim’s men lacking a regular United goalscorer in the 2024-25 season.

Chido Obi-Martin left Arsenal’s youth academy set-up in 2024 and arrived at Old Trafford, with the United player elevated to the first team under Amorim.

Amorim’s first-team squad has been disrupted by injuries and the struggles of Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have opened the door for Chido Obi-Martin.

Chido Obi was unable to play for United in the Europa League on Thursday, but Amorim admitted that the 17-year-old could feature against former side Arsenal.

“Everybody can start,” Amorim said at his pre-match press conference, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“If they are training tomorrow [Friday], if they played today [Thursday], they can be ready.

“Chido is on the list, so he can play.”

What Chido Obi could bring for Man Utd vs Arsenal

Chido Obi-Martin has made sporadic appearances for United under Amorim, but the Red Devils youngster is gaining valuable first-team minutes and experience.

The Red Devils player, who is now part of the United youth academy, came off the bench in last weekend’s fifth-round FA Cup defeat to Fulham at Old Trafford.

Amorim’s men might have crashed out of the FA Cup on penalties last Sunday, but Chido Obi impressed United fans with his cameo appearance from the bench.

Chido Obi is still raw in his talent and needs much more time to develop, but the ex-Arsenal man still has his chance to write his name in the stars for this season.
