There is just over a month left in the 2024-2025 NBA season, only giving teams a few more weeks to solidify their standing before the playoffs.
This year’s field is slated to have some new additions, and several teams are playing much better than people expected heading into the year.
Despite teams like the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Cleveland Cavaliers coming out of nowhere and leading the Western and Eastern Conferences, respectively, the national media has focused on other organizations, at least in Charles Barkley’s mind.
Barkley recently ranted about the current state of the league on the NBA on TNT, talking about how the Cavaliers and Thunder are neglected, while the Los Angeles Lakers and Golden State Warriors remain the focal point.

Barkley did mention that he was wrong about the Lakers and takes full responsibility for his poor take, but he doubled and tripled down on this belief on the teams that get less air time.
The Warriors have also gotten a lot of buzz lately for how they’re putting it all together with the addition of Jimmy Butler, but in Barkley’s eyes, they’re only getting this traction because it’s a relatively new development.
The Cavaliers and Thunder have been doing this all year, and he’s excited to see what both teams can do in the playoffs, hopefully proving that they are worthy of more conversations and discourse on sports shows.
