Lille star Jonathan David has reportedly made a decision on his next move

Manchester United's hopes of securing the free signing of Jonathan David in the summer have been handed a huge boost following reports of his preferred destination.

David has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for a number of years after impressing in Ligue 1 with Lille. Since moving to France from KAA Gent, the Canadian international has scored 105 goals in 221 appearances.

At the end of the season, David's contract expires and it's highly likely that he'll embark on a new challenge on a free transfer. A number of clubs are understood to have registered interest in the 25-year-old and the race to sign him is set to intensify in the next months.

Having previously confirmed his ambitions to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, David has now chucked another curveball in the transfer battle by deciding on a move to the Premier League.

CaughtOffside claim that David wants to move to England this summer rather than a move to Spain in order to play in the Premier League. As well as United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Newcastle and Arsenal have all been linked with the forward.

David has rejected moves to Brighton and West Ham in the past but it's reported that his ideal transfer will be to one of the top-tier clubs. The Hammers are, though, still keen on adding him to Graham Potter's squad.

At Old Trafford, Ruben Amorim's goalscoring woes continue with Rasmus Hojlund going three months without scoring. Joshua Zirkzee scored his first goal in the Europa League on Thursday night against Real Sociedad but a prolific goalscorer remains the priority in the summer.
