**Reliable journalist David Ornstein has confirmed that Liverpool are eyeing a summer move for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, in an exciting claim.**
The 25-year-old has been one of Europe’s most devastating attacking players this season, [scoring 19 goals](https://www.whoscored.com/players/299254/show/alexander-isak) in the Premier League, including one stunning effort in the 3-3 draw at home to the Reds.
Newcastle are understandably desperate to retain the services of one of the best players they’ve had in years, only entertaining the idea of letting Isak go if another club bids around £150m.
Liverpool have been mentioned as potential suitors for the Sweden international, and according to [_The Athletic_](https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6180667/2025/03/06/liverpool-alexander-isak-arsenal-striker-transfers/)‘s Ornstein, he is on the Reds’ radar, along with other clubs:
Alan Shearer, who believes he now has to be thought of as a “world-class” footballer:
_“His all round game is magnificent. He is creating so many opportunities, getting shots away. His first touch is fantastic. I think there are three world class forwards in the Premier League. Erling Haaland being one. Mohamed Salah being another and Isak the third.”_
The only concern about Isak is the fact that he has had injury problems down the years, so if Liverpool do spend a record-breaking amount on him this summer, there would be a risk element involved.
If the Reds’ recruitment team believe that his fitness is no issue, however, they must do all they can to secure what could be one of the club’s most exciting signings in a long time.
