The Spanish giants are interested in the Blues defender as per reports by Fichajes. He has not been at his potential best at the Stamford Bridge club. In the recent months, he has been linked with various moves with some top European clubs. And Atletico seem to be leading the race for the player right now. They could sign him in the coming summer transfer window.
The west London side should be looking for better options if the player decides to leave. Cucurella will surely think about having a good opportunity to play in his home country. A new chapter in his professional career would be ideal for him. He was one of the best players when he was at Brighton & Hove Albion. But we haven’t been able to see his best with the Blues.
Although, he is talented player in his position. He would surely thrive under the management of Diego Simeone. Simeone’s team have been giving a hard fight to Real Madrid and Barcelona. for the La Liga crown. The 2013/2014 season was the last time they won the league. And since then they have been waiting to lift the title again. But they have been finishing in the top three for almost every year behind Real and Barca.

Atletico could add more depth in their left flank
