Bengals sign Tanner Hudson to contract extension

The [Cincinnati Bengals](https://www.cincyjungle.com/) have signed tight end Tanner Hudson to a one-year contract extension through the 2025 season, the team announced Friday.

Hudson, who will be a sixth-year player in 2025, joined the Bengals’ practice squad in December of 2022. He has played in 23 games with one start over the past two seasons for Cincinnati and caught 58 passes for 506 yards and two touchdowns.

The Bengals are now assured of at least having Hudson, Drew Sample, Tanner McLachlan, and Cam Grandy for the 2025 season, while Mike Gesicki is set to become a free agent. If Gesicki is allowed to talk, then the Bengals will still have some depth at the position, but they’d still need to make at least one high-level acquisition via NFL free agency and/or the 2025 NFL Draft.

And because this is just a one-year deal, Hudson will still have to fight for his spot on the 53-man roster.
