Andriy Lunin Ukraine Goalkeeper
One of the most difficult jobs in football is being a backup goalkeeper. Unlike other outfield positions, most coaches hardly prefer to rotate their shot-stopping options and this means that they are mostly resigned to minutes in cup games.
There are some coaches who don’t give their backup goalkeepers game time even in the domestic cups. For example, Erik ten Hag never really considered Altay Bayindir for any Man Utd game unless Andre Onana was absent due to some reason.

Similarly, at Real Madrid, Andriy Lunin has not been having a great time this season despite a stellar display last season. The Ukrainian shot-stopper has found himself behind Courtois in the pecking order and rightly so.
Now, it appears, as per Spanish source, Fichajes, Man Utd are prepared to submit a £33.5million offer to sign the La Liga star, looking to offer him a way out of Madrid.
Andre Onana has had mixed performances in recent weeks and Ruben Amorim might want someone more reliable.
Last season, when Courtois was injured, Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti trusted in Andriy Lunin despite signing Kepa on loan from Chelsea and the Ukrainian international had many stellar displays including the game against Manchester City in the Champions League.
So far this season, Lunin has made just three league starts, in the absence of Courtois. He has enough quality to be a first choice shot-stopper for one of the clubs in Europe and this might be his last season in the Whites of Madrid.
If Man Utd sign Lunin or make an attempt to sign him, it would have to be to have him as the starter and that could mean selling Andre Onana in the summer.
The Cameroonian international has been a frustrating figure during his time at Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Lunin and if he finds himself at Old Trafford in the near future.
At just 26, he has age on his side and Man Utd would be getting him at the perfect possible time. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
