UEFA has recently released a report that includes comprehensive details and an analysis of the earnings of football clubs across Europe.
The report (h/t SPORT) suggests Real Madrid were the top earners in Europe last year, with a total revenue stream of more than €1 billion.
Barcelona: Sixth highest earner in Europe
The findings place FC Barcelona as the sixth-highest revenue-generating club in Europe for 2024, bringing in €764 million.
Interestingly, along with Juventus, Barcelona were one of two top clubs that actually saw a revenue decline.
Indeed, the club’s revenue fell 6% year-on-year, with the report citing the ongoing renovation of Spotify Camp Nou as the main reason.
While Barça’s drop in revenue places them behind other European giants, they still surpass several major clubs in terms of commercial earnings and overall financial strength.
Barcelona remain one of the most dominant clubs in terms of commercial revenue, ranking fourth in Europe with €383 million in sponsorship and related earnings.

However, in matchday revenue, the club has fallen to seventh place with €116 million, impacted by the stadium redevelopment.
That being said, 2025 could bode well for Barcelona on account of UEFA Champions League’s increasing prize money from the new competitive format.
Barcelona, in fact, are currently placed second in terms of revenue generated (€55.1 million) from the Champions League this season, thanks in part to their second-placed finish in the competition’s league phase.
Real Madrid, in contrast, are tenth on this list, with a total revenue generation of less than €50 million.
However, it is imperative that the club continue to perform well in the Champions League, if they are to continue reaping the financial benefits of the new UCL format.
