LA PLATA, Maryland — Globalstar’s second-generation Apple-financed mobile communications satellites will be rolling off the production line starting in 2026, in parallel with the Telesat Lightspeed broadband constellation, prime contractor MDA Space said.
Canada-based MDA is under contract to build 198 Lightspeed satellites — plus an option for 100 more — with launches scheduled on 14 SpaceX Falcon 9 rockets in 2026-2027, with a global Lightspeed service planned for 2027.
