Boost for Ipswich as player returns to training – In squad for Crystal Palace clash

Ipswich Town have received a major boost ahead of the clash against Crystal Palace as Julio Enciso is set to be part of the squad for the game.

That’s [according to journalist Christian Martin](https://x.com/SomosVersusPY/status/1898035443477688716), speaking to Somos Paraguay, who reports that Enciso has trained this week as normal.

The midfielder is currently on loan at Ipswich from Brighton and Hove Albion, joining them in the January transfer window in search of regular playing time until the end of the season.

He’s been a regular in Kieran McKenna’s side since but was facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury midway through February.

That’s seen him miss six games against Tottenham and Manchester United in the Premier League as well as the recent defeat to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

There were some fears he could be missing for the entirety of this month, a major blow to Ipswich but also Paraguay, who will want him as part of their squad for the upcoming international break.

Martin has good news, though, revealing that Enciso has trained this week and will be a part of the Ipswich squad taking on Crystal Palace.

“The other day I said that Julio was on the road to recovery, that he could have been in the match against Nottingham Forest, which ended up losing 5-4 on penalties, after drawing 1-1 in the FA Cup,” he said.

“Julio was not there, I understand that yes, that he has trained alongside his teammates yesterday, yesterday and today, and that… he will be in the squad for sure to play against Crystal Palace.

“I don’t know if he’ll start it, but after having missed several games, almost a month out, now with that slightly swollen knee that he had, is in condition to play in this match.”
