Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has on Friday hinted that a leading member of his midfield setup could be afforded a rest in the club’s next outing.
Barcelona are of course primed to return to action tomorrow evening.
Fresh off a hard-fought victory at Benfica in the Champions League in midweek, the Blaugrana will turn attentions back towards matters on the domestic front, in a home meeting with Osasuna.
The matchup comes sandwiched between the two legs of the Catalans’ European tie with Benfica.
In turn, it has been reported in the media over the last 24 hours that some of Barca’s most important players could be afforded a much-needed rest on Saturday.
This afternoon, Hansi Flick was therefore drawn on the possibility of as much for one member of his squad in particular.
Asked if Pedri could be left out against Osasuna, the German tactician explained:
“We’ll see if it’s time for Pedri to rest. He’s very professional. He recovers well and trains at the highest level.”
