Ruben Amorim has broken his silence on Manchester United fans planning a protest ahead of the upcoming clash against Arsenal.
Manchester United have had an extremely difficult season so far and new boss Ruben Amorim is struggling to turn things around.
The Reds sit 14th in the Premier League and are out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. Their only chance of salvaging the season rests on winning the Europa League.
Next up for United is a clash against Arsenal at home after they drew against Real Sociedad on Thursday evening.
United fans are planning a protest on Sunday, 9 March ahead of their 16:30 GMT kick-off against Arsenal at Old Trafford.
Fan group ‘The 1958’ have stated that the protest will be against the Glazer family “and the clubs deliberate assault on fan culture” after multiple controversial decisions from Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Ratcliffe has raised the ticket prices for United fans and there are concerns that season ticket prices will also be higher for next season.
Amorim breaks silence on United fan protest
Amorim is dealing with a lot of problems on the pitch at United right now and, as always, there are issues off the field at the same time.
Asked whether the upcoming fan protest makes his job more difficult, Amorim shut down the assumption and explained that United supporters “have the right to protest” against the ownership.
Amorim responded: “No, I think for everybody in our club it’s a really tough moment. It’s everything at the same time. The only thing I can do and our players can do is perform well and win.
“People have the right to protest. I think it’s a good thing to do that. It’s part of our club. Everybody has a voice.
“But our job and my job is just to improve the team and to give them something in this moment, because they deserve it and they are amazing.”
Amorim recognises United fans deserve better
United fans are still firmly in support of Amorim and supporting their protests won’t hurt that whatsoever.
It is quite clear that Amorim recognises that United fans deserve better than what the club and he is delivering right now.

There will be likely be questions surrounding an ownership that isn’t winning but recent decisions from United’s board make fan unrest inevitable.
However, Amorim and his squad cannot focus on all of this noise no matter how loud it is. Their job is to improve what is happening on the pitch.
