Wolverhampton Wanderers could soon be set for a boost, with Enso Gonzalez ready to return to first team training.
That’s [according to journalist Christian Martin](https://x.com/SomosVersusPY/status/1898042382911742106), who reports that Gonzalez is set for a return and will flourish for the club moving forwards.
Gonzalez joined Wolved in a €6m deal from Libertad in August 2023 but has only made one appearance for the first team to date, totalling one minute.
He was working his way up in the U21s, making eight appearances for them totalling 458 minutes before suffering a cruciate ligament team in July 2024.
That’s seen him miss 310 days so far and 43 games for Wolves, with the initial diagnosis seeing him ruled out until June of this year.
It was expected that he would miss the entirety of this season with the injury, with Wolves keen to be cautious around the 20-year-old to ensure he returned properly and didn’t suffer any long-term issues either given the nature of his injury.
They’re still taking that approach according to Martin, but the positive news is that the youngster may now be ready to step up his return.
“Enso looks good. I don’t want to say anything out of place because the other time it happened and he got injured again,” he said.
“Let’s touch wood. When we see him in the Wolves shirt, we understand that he’s almost ready to join the team, to train alongside.
“Running, changing fronts, protecting that knee to the max. We’re going to have Encito in his prime as Wolverhampton. And believe me and save this video. Encito is going to break it with Wolves.”
