Everton have confirmed the appointment of Angus Kinnear as their new CEO as the executive swaps Leeds United for Goodison Park.
After days of speculation, Everton have announced that they have roped in Kinnear from Leeds, with the new CEO taking charge from 1 June.
With Kevin Thelwell stepping down from his role as the director of football when his contract expires in the summer, the Toffees are shifting to a new model led by a sporting leadership team instead of relying on a single figure.
This also means that Kinnear will work closely with David Moyes when he officially starts in three months’ time.

The relationship between Kinnear and Moyes will be ‘crucial’ in the new restructuring under The Friedkin Group, according to Paul Joyce.

However, that is not expected to be a problem because the departing Leeds executive already knows the Scot.
Furthermore, Kinnear has already built a reputation for being able to galvanise people, having also held leadership roles at Arsenal and West Ham.

Everton to invest in new signings
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Idrissa Gueye and Ashley Young are among those whose contracts are running out at the end of the season.
Everton have already decided against triggering a one-year contract extension in Abdoulaye Doucoure’s contract.
This means the Merseyside-based club are prepared to overhaul their squad this summer if need be.
The Friedkin Group recently arranged a £350million funding package for the new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium and that would allow the Toffees to save £50m a year and invest it in the first-team squad.
