The new NFL year does not start until Wednesday, March 12, but the [Seattle Seahawks](https://www.fieldgulls.com/) have had a busy week priming their roster ahead of the start of the legal tampering period on Monday.
First it was a quartet of cap cuts on Tuesday, followed by the release of Tyler Lockett on Wednesday. Then on Thursday the Seahawks announced that they had agreed to terms with fourth year cornerback Josh Jobe, who had been scheduled to be a restricted free agent. Now it’s Friday, and the team has announced that they have tendered at least one of their exclusive rights free agents.
Many may not immediately recognize the name Brady Russell, but since being poached off the practice squad of the [Philadelphia Eagles](https://www.bleedinggreennation.com/) early in the 2024 season Russell has become a key member of the special teams for the Hawks.
In 2024 he finished the season with the fifth most special teams snaps, even though he missed six games, after finishing second on the team in that category in 2023 even though he was not even on the Seattle roster for the first two weeks of the season.
For those curious, Exclusive Rights Free Agent Tenders are for league minimum for the number of credited seasons a player has. In Russell’s case this tender carries a non-guaranteed salary of $1.03M for 2025.
