Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is concerned that the quality of Manchester United's squad could be his side's undoing when they meet in the Premier League on Sunday.
The Gunners head into the clash full of confidence after beating PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in the Champions League. United meanwhile, were forced to settle for a draw against Real Sociedad in the Europa League and are aware of the pressure they are under to stay in Europe while also improving their Premier League position.
Amorim has struggled to mastermind victories at Old Trafford since arriving in November and the Reds are languishing in the bottom half of the table. And yet, Arteta admitted in his pre-match press conference that United are still capable of pulling off a result against them.
"Yeah, well, that's the history of that football club," Arteta replied when asked if he was expecting a physical match up with the Reds this weekend. "The players that they have, the coach that they have.
"Watching the game last night against Real Sociedad, it’s very clear that they are very capable to put on a really strong performance and beat you on the day. We know that.
"We know the difficulty of the match. That's how we prepared."
United last tasted victory at the end of February when their ten-men beat relegation-threatened Ipswich Town 3-2 at Old Trafford. Amorim is expected to have the same squad available to him as he had on Thursday night in San Sebastian, but including the return of Chido Obi and with the absence of Patrick Dorgu who is suspended for the fixture.
