With free agency set to start next week, the Cardinals brought back a pair of their own free-agents-to-be to help special teams.
Long snapper Aaron Brewer signed a one-year contract and safety Joey Blount signed a two-year deal on Friday, before players can start negotiations with teams other than their own beginning on Monday.
Brewer's return guarantees his position on the roster as the new league year begins. Brewer played in all 17 games for a second straight season without an errant snap. The veteran will head into his 14th NFL season and 10th in Arizona.
Blount, heading into his third season with the Cardinals, played in 15 games last season. He only got on the field for 20 defensive snaps, but played a career-high 268 special teams snaps despite missing the final two games with a ribs injury.
Blount was one of five restricted free agents for the Cardinals, which includes wide receiver Greg Dortch and linebacker Jesse Luketa. Those players become unrestricted unless they are tendered an offer before Wednesday.
The Cardinals already have 20 pending unrestricted free-agents-to-be.
The Cardinals also [reportedly](https://x.com/TomPelissero/status/1898050250884952328) brought in veteran defensive tackle Roy Robertson-Harris for a visit. Robertson-Harris was released by the Seahawks earlier this week. He played 17 games last season splitting time with Jacksonville and Seattle and recorded two sacks.
