Buffalo police are investigating after an Ontario man and his partner, described as prominent advocates and artists, were discovered slain inside their two-storey home in Allentown, a crime that has sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community.

On Tuesday afternoon, police received a call about a man holding a knife outside a home. He cut himself, was taken into custody and remains a person of interest, police said. The man is 35 and has not been identified, although indications are he did not know the victims.
