During his five-year run with the Buffalo Bills from 2019-2023, starting center Mitch Morse not only reached his first Pro Bowl with the organization but showed a kind of consistency the team failed to have along the offensive line for decades.
Even though Morse has been away from the team for the last couple of years, it always seems like he is a big part of Bills history - no matter how cursed or damaging that has been to fans.
After a 10-year run in the NFL with the Chiefs, Bills, and most recently the Jacksonville Jaguars, Morse has officially decided to call it a career at this point.
"The things I'll remember and cherish most about my career are the relationships and bonds I created with my teammates, both on and off of the field," Morse said in a statement. "Nothing can replace that, and I will miss it dearly. I want to thank the Kansas City Chiefs, Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars for ten unforgettable seasons. Most of all, I want to thank my wife, Caitlin, and my children Kennedy and Deacon for their constant love and support on this journey.
"I look forward to spending more time with them as I navigate retirement."
The Jaguars signed Morse to a two-year contract worth $10.5 million last March. He started all 17 games in 2024 and ranked fourth among centers in pass block win rate according to ESPN.
Buffalo replaced Morse with a veteran player in Connor McGovern, but it's clear that Morse will go down as a fan favorite for the city long after he retires at this point.
