Ruben Amorim has had to manage without Amad Diallo since the start of February as the winger injured his ankle in training.
Diallo sustained damage to the ligament in his ankle, with the Manchester United medical team advising surgery to support his recovery.
As such, it’s been widely expected that the Ivory Coast international would be out of action for the rest of the campaign, however, this might not be the case.
Speaking in the pre-match press conference ahead of United’s Premier League clash with Arsenal this weekend Amorim hinted at a potential return for Diallo.
The Portuguese manager commented: “I think it’s just Amad and Lisandro Martinez [who won’t be back this season].”
He continued: “But even with Amad, we will see in the last month. I don’t want to say anything, but I hope to have Amad back before the end of the season.”
Whilst this doesn’t confirm that the winger will be back soon, it does give a slight indication that his recovery is going well.
Amad Diallo has truly thrived under Amorim, being used in the right-wing-back and right-attacking-midfield roles, performing incredibly in both.
No doubt Amorim will be pleased to have the youngster back in his squad, bringing much-needed strength to the squad once more.
