CHARLOTTE, North Carolina -- The Cleveland Cavaliers take the NBA’s best record on the road for a matchup today - March 7 - against the Charlotte Hornets. The game will be broadcast on FanDuel Sports Network in both team’s local markets. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. Eastern.
Fans who’ve cut the cord on cable can stream Friday’s game on Fubo (free trial) or DirecTV Stream (free trial).
The Cavs (52-10) enter the game on a 12-game winning streak, their third streak of 12 or more games this season. They became the first team in the NBA to clinch a playoff berth with a 112-107 home victory over the Heat on Wednesday.
Led by a star-studded core of Donovan Mitchell (24.4 PPG), Darius Garland (21.1 PPG), Evan Mobley (18.6 PPG), and Jarrett Allen (10.3 RPG), head coach Kenny Atkinson’s squad boasts a potent mix of high-powered offense and solid defense.
The Hornets (14-47) find themselves on the opposite end of the NBA spectrum, having lost eight straight games, including a 15-point home defeat to the Timberwolves in their last outing. Head coach Charles Lee’s team is led by LaMelo Ball (26.2 PPG) and Miles Bridges (20.3 PPG), but they have been without second-leading scorer Brandon Miller since January due to injury.
While Charlotte is near the bottom in the league offensively, their defense has shown promise, with ranking in the middle of the pack in opponent points per game and defensive rating.
The Cavs have won all three meetings between the two teams so far this season.
