The Presidential Office Held a Discussion on Better Interaction Between Government and Business and Improvement of the Council for Support of Entrepreneurship
Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak held a videoconference meeting with members of the Council for Support of Entrepreneurship under Martial Law.
“Thank you for your work, for supporting people, for providing a crucial element without which our just peace would not be possible – the fact that the country lives, works and makes great achievements in many industries – no matter how illogical or difficult it may seem. This is thanks to you, the Ukrainian business,” Andriy Yermak said.
The Head of the Presidential Office noted the need to improve the Council's work and make it more universal. In particular, by increasing the number of entrepreneurs in it, involving government representatives, and establishing a secretariat.
“This is the kind of platform that gives us the opportunity to develop recommendations and that is currently shaping and accumulating everything that comes from business: issues, proposals, recommendations, advice. So that all of this is drawn up into clear documents that would be provided to the Government and the President of Ukraine for important decision-making,” he said.
According to Andriy Yermak, this will speed up the resolution of topical issues and protect business from being pressured by law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
Moreover, once a just and lasting peace is achieved, such a mechanism of interaction between Government and business will help rebuild the country.
“We must bring our people back, create conditions for renewed foreign investment. Because foreign investment is one of the future security guarantees. Ukraine will need a new economic strategy and, certainly, conditions in which business will feel not only comfortable, but very respected and needed,” the Head of the Presidential Office concluded.
Business representatives supported the proposal to establish a secretariat and expressed hope that improved coordination would make the Council's work more effective.
The Head of the Presidential Office also informed the participants about cooperation with partners to strengthen Ukraine and the development of relations with the United States.
