The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the New York Knicks on Thursday night at Crypto.com Arena, making it eight straight victories. This game went into overtime where Los Angeles outscored New York 14-10 to secure a 113-109 victory.
The Lakers were again led by the superstar pairing of LeBron James and Luka Doncic. James finished with 31 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists, while Doncic added 32 points, 12 assists, seven rebounds and four steals.
The Knicks were led by 39 points from Jalen Brunson, but the star guard suffered an ankle injury in the overtime period that ended his night.
The NBA has released its Last Two Minute Report for this game, and it includes the major admission of some significant missed calls in both the fourth quarter and overtime.
With 1:39 remaining in the fourth quarter, the NBA incorrectly called a foul against Doncic.
"Doncic (LAL) moves laterally in a defensive position in front of Brunson (NYK) and the body contact is marginal. He then makes clean contact with the ball to deflect it away from Brunson," the NBA admitted.

Because Los Angeles won the game, this ended up being mostly inconsequential, but there was one miss towards the end of regulation that disadvantaged Knicks. With 1:10 remaining, the NBA admitted Doncic should have been called for an offensive three second violation.
The NBA also admitted two missed calls in the overtime period, with the first coming when Mitchell Robinson fouled Doncic away from the play, but the officials did not call it.
"Robinson (NYK) attempts to commit a take foul on Doncic (LAL) away from the play," the NBA admitted.
Still confused as to why the refs didn't call the off ball intentional foul on Robinson here. Clearly goes to foul Luka to get Brunson out of the game. Would've resulted in a free throw plus the ball for the Lakers. pic.twitter.com/Ajmazs2FBa

Lastly, the NBA admitted with 14.5 seconds left in overtime that Lakers center Jaxson Hayes should have been called for a defensive three second violation.
"Hayes (LAL) is in the paint for longer than three seconds without imminently actively guarding an opponent," the league stated.
