Raiders Have Already ‘Talked’ Trade for $72 Million Star

The Las Vegas Raiders need to make several upgrades to their offense this offseason if they want to be competitive in a loaded AFC West division. Acquiring a competent starting quarterback will be the top priority for the Raiders' new regime, but the team also needs a handful of capable running backs and a true No. 1 wide receiver.

Fortunately, help could be on the way for Las Vegas in the form of a top-flight pass catcher. ESPN's Brady Henderson reported on Friday that the Raiders have been in communication with the Seattle Seahawks about trading for star wide receiver D.K. Metcalf.

Metcalf recently requested a trade from the Seattle Seahawks and Las Vegas is a logical place for him to land. Not only could the Raiders use a player of his caliber, but Metcalf was drafted by new Las Vegas head coach Pete Carroll when he was in coach Seattle, and the two worked together for five seasons.

Under Carroll, Metcalf earned his way to two Pro Bowls and collected almost 5,400 receiving yards and 43 touchdowns. His combination of size and speed would be a problem for any team to handle, especially if they have to account for both Brock Bowers and Jakobi Meyers as well.

Las Vegas should push for this trade if the price is reasonable and they do not like their other options in the draft or on the free agent market. Acquiring Metcalf would help the team tremendously, but the Raiders would still need to find someone to reliably throw him the ball.
