New York Knicks star guard Jalen Brunson will miss at least two weeks due to a right ankle sprain, the organization announced.
Jalen Brunson sustained a sprain to his right ankle. An update on his status will be given in approximately 2 weeks.
Brunson sustained the injury Thursday night during overtime of the Knicks’ 113-109 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. He produced 39 points and 10 assists before exiting the game.
Brunson has averaged 26.3 points, 7.4 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game in 61 appearances this season, leading the Knicks to a 40-22 record. With 20 games remaining in the regular season, New York holds the No. 3 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Knicks play the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday at the Moda Center, so Brunson will be out for that matchup.
