Mason Crosby continues to give back to the community after retiring from the Packers

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - Continuing to do amazing work off of the field is important to Crosby, as he supported many different charities in the area.

Playing 16 seasons with the Packers, winning a Super Bowl, and the franchise all-time leading scorer, Mason Crosby says his work in Green Bay is far from over.

“Just because I’m not playing for the Green Bay Packers anymore, this is family, this is home. We’re going to raise money for Make-A-Wish Wisconsin and it’s going to be awesome,” Mason Crosby said.

Giving back is something that Mason and his wife Molly say came naturally to them.

Molly joined the “Give a Kid a Book” campaign in 2015 as a partnership with the Brown County Library as an honorary chairperson, advocating for children’s literacy at an early age.

“Molly was very hands on and no matter what we had going on with the program she wanted to be involved. I would even get messages from her on the off season about ideas she had or other things we could do, and people we could talk to about supporting the program,” Meg Deem, Chairperson of “Give a Kid a Book” campaign said.

Crosby served as co-chair of the annual Lombardi Golf Classic for 10 years.

It was during this time that some of Crosby’s family members were battling the disease.

His wife was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2019 and says the Lombardi Cancer Foundation holds a special place in their family’s heart.

“Cancer is a fight we all have and it might not just be one we have today so pick a team and get in it to win it because you don’t want to be on any other team than one that’s led by the name Lombardi that’s the team you want to be on,” Molly Crosby said.

Mason is continuing his work with Make-A-Wish by hosting the Border Brouhaha Softball Slam on July 27.
