Leicester City face an uphill battle to retain their Premier League status, and with a five-point gap to make up, it could be too steep of a hill.
On Sunday, Leicester head to Chelsea in the Premier League on the back of 11 losses in 12 league games, resulting in anger from the fanbase.
Their 2-0 defeat against West Ham last week saw an outpour of emotion from the stands and on social media, with fans calling for Ruud van Nistelrooy to be sacked.
Van Nistelrooy’s appointment has been a complete disaster, and not even the most optimistic of supporters can see a positive change ahead.
So, with all that said, here’s the latest Leicester City news.

Ruud van Nistelrooy on Jeremy Monga’s future
It isn’t just their league position Leicester are concerned about, as they’re also worried they’ll lose their most talented wonderkid, Jeremy Monga.
On Thursday, Leicester City News exclusively revealed that Manchester City had agreed a deal to sign Monga. However, the manager also offered an update on the 15-year-old.
Van Nistelrooy is ‘doing everything’ to keep Monga for the long-term and is currently in conversation with the player and his parents.

Ricardo Pereira and Woyo Coulibaly are set to return
A positive injury update was supplied during Friday’s press conference, with Ricardo Pereira available for selection alongside fellow right-back Woyo Coulibaly.
Pereira returned to training last month after being sidelined with a hamstring injury, serving as a boost to Van Nistelrooy, while Coulibaly is back following his absence from the West Ham defeat.
The two players and James Justin are now set to battle for a place at right-back, handing Van Nistelrooy a tough call.
Chelsea fans blast Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Leicester sold Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to Chelsea for £30 million in the summer, but his move to Stamford Bridge couldn’t have gone any worse so far.
He’s only made eight league appearances, and in Thursday’s Europa Conference League win over Copenhagen, Chelsea fans blasted Dewsbury-Hall for his performance, labelling him one of their worst-ever signings.
A return for Dewsbury-Hall to Leicester was mooted in January, and perhaps he wishes he never left the King Power Stadium.
Leicester City PSR update
PSR is a word Leicester fans normally dread hearing, as it’s been attributed to their downward spiral financially.
In January, Leicester avoided a points deduction after being found not guilty of breaching PSR rules, and now, finance expert Adam Williams has offered an update.
According to Williams, Leicester won’t breach PSR in 2025/26, even if they suffer relegation to the Championship, which will be music to the ears of many.
