The 3-time NBA thus became the first player in NBA history to amass 30 points, 20 rebounds and 20 assists in a game. He finished with 13/22 from the field (3/7 3PT), 2/3 FT, 3 steals, 4 turnovers and 3 fouls in a total of 44 minutes.

Jokic also broke his all-time career high in assists with his 29th triple-double of the season. If he plays all 19 remaining regular-season games, he’s on pace to finish with 39, which would be three shy of Russell Westbrook’s all-time single-season record.

He got the opportunity to make history after Kevin Durant forced overtime with a 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Suns had just 1.1 seconds to tie after Christian Braun hit a 3-pointer to give the Nuggets the lead.

Jokic entered Friday averaging career highs in both points (28.8), assists (10.4), steals (1.8) and 3-point shooting (43.9%), while ranking third in the NBA in rebounds. His latest performance might help him land his 4th career NBA MVP accolade.
