Wolves star Matheus Cunha may have put interested clubs off of a move to sign him this summer after his latest on-pitch outburst.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Cunha’s volatility and short temper will be a concern.
However, he explained that the 25-year-old’s talent and outstanding performances at Molineux means clubs are prepared to take a gamble on him.
This comes after the Brazil international was sent off after hitting out at Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez, followed by a headbutt as the red mist descended at the Vitality.
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett told Football Insider that Cunha could be handed an extended FA ban after what has been labelled “totally unacceptable behaviour”.
Earlier this season, Cunha clashed with an Ipswich Town staff member at full-time at Molineux, leading to him receiving a two-match suspension and £60,000 fine.

Arsenal respond to Matheus Cunha’s latest Wolves outburst
Brown told Football Insider in January that Arsenal want to sign Cunha from Wolves and had joined the likes of Man United and Aston Villa in the race for his signature.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, recalled concerns about the likes of Roy Keane in comparison to what Cuna has done.
“*There will be question marks about it, certainly,*” he told Football Insider.
“We’ve seen quite a few South American players with that streak in them where reason goes out the window and the red mist descends.
“We’ve had a few players here who are like that as well.
“People always asked similar questions about Roy Keane – whenever Roy went on the field, you were never 100 per cent certain he would see the game out.
“If he was provoked under certain circumstances, he would react and lash out.
“He was always likely to react, and that can be a strength but it can also be a weakness.
“It gives them a bit of edge to their game, but you can also end up playing with ten men.
“In terms of Cunha, that will be taking into account by the clubs who have been looking at signing him and then they’ll have a decision to make.
“Some will take the view that he’s willing to fight his cause, which can be seen as a benefit.
“But others will be concerned because he’s volatile and could snap at any moment, so they’d be paying big money for a player who might not be available.
“It’s certainly a consideration for these clubs.”

Cunha has been a target for Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to strengthen their attacking options following an injury crisis.
Both Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus have been ruled out for the rest of the season, while Football Insider revealed that Bukayo Saka may also miss the season’s close.
As a result, Mikel Arteta and his transfer team have been assessing their options ahead of the summer, and have identified multiple names alongside Cunha.
Brown Football Insider Arsenal want to sign Liverpool’s Diogo Jota, who is no longer considered a part of Arne Slot’s plans, while Ollie Watkins remains on their shortlist.
