Canadian police on Friday confirmed that the human remains found last month in a landfill outside Winnipeg, Manitoba, are those of Morgan Harris, a member of the Long Plain First Nation who was murdered by a serial killer in 2022.
Harris’s remains were discovered in the Prairie Green landfill and were one of two sets recovered. The Manitoba government had been conducting a humanitarian search and recovery mission since December for Harris, 39, and Marcedes Myran, 26, at the request of their families, provincial authorities said in a statement. The two women, both members of the Long Plain First Nation, were among the victims of a serial killer who preyed on Indigenous women, according to police.
