Southampton is the next challenge that stands in front of Liverpool on their path to the Premier League title.
The Reds hold a healthy lead over Arsenal at the top of the table with Arne Slot’s men currently 13 points ahead of the North London club.
Slot has warned his Liverpool players about complacency ahead of their clash with Southampton at Anfield, as the Merseyside club have two huge games on the horizon against PSG and Newcastle.
That is a trap the Premier League leaders could easily fall into, although Slot is expected to rest several of Liverpool’s key stars against the Saints.
The dressing room knows that they have a great chance of becoming Premier League champions and Alexis Mac Allister has admitted that they have been discussing something many would frown upon them for.

Alexis Mac Allister shares what the Liverpool dressing room is saying about the Premier League
When pundits normally speak about winning titles, the common phrase thrown around is taking it game by game and not looking ahead, even if the team on top has a healthy lead.
Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk showed this mentality after the Reds’ recent win over Newcastle, however, Mac Allister has admitted that the dressing room have been discussing the title celebrations.
MORE LIVERPOOL STORIES
When asked if Liverpool players allow themselves to think about title celebration, Mac Allister responded in the Official Liverpool Matchday Programme for Southampton by saying that they do.
“Yes, that’s what’s been discussed here with one or two of the lads who have been here at the club for a few years now and who managed to win the title on that occasion (2019/20).
“That will be the difference I think, between winning it now and what it was like in that season. Everyone says the same, that they weren’t able to celebrate the win in the way everyone would have wanted, as a result of the pandemic.”
One of the key figures in Liverpool’s success this season has of course been their manager, with Mac Allister another player to shower Slot with praise.
Alex Mac Allister is grateful for the ‘trust’ Arne Slot has shown
Mac Allister has been a key player for Liverpool ever since he arrived at Anfield in 2023 and that has continued under Slot.
Rafa Benitez praised Mac Allister and Ryan Gravenberch for their roles this season, with the Reds midfield trio being one of Slot’s biggest success stories on Merseyside.
Speaking about the new Liverpool coach, Mac Allister has said: “Since he has arrived, Arne has been clear in his ideas and how he wanted us to play.
“He emphasized one or two small changes here and there because there is always a question about comparing him with Jurgen [Klopp].
“I think there are some small details that we have changed and we have improved upon, and we are still in that period of transition to really deliver exactly what he wants.
“But whenever you are winning, it makes things so much easier. We are really happy to be working with him and always very grateful for the trust and confidence and shows in us.”
Things are going very well for Mac Allister, Slot, and Liverpool as a whole at present and with a treble on the line, fans of the Reds are hoping things continue the way they have been.
