Liverpool target Angelo Stiller has a €36m release clause which can be triggered in the summer of 2026
There are several positions that Liverpool need to strengthen this summer after barely spending anything in the last two transfer windows.
Arne Slot has been extracting the best out of the squad that he inherited from legendary boss Jurgen Klopp, helping the Reds establish a 13-point lead at the summit of the Premier League and guiding them to the Carabao Cup final. Undoubtedly ecstatic with the way Liverpool have dominated the Premier League and Europe this season, the club’s hierarchy are planning to back the Dutch tactician in the summer.
Over recent months, many players across Europe have been linked with moves to Anfield. The excitement around the Reds’ interest in VfB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller has gained some grip.
Reliable BILD chief correspondent Christian Falk has revealed that Liverpool are watching Angelo Stiller ahead of a potential summer swoop.
Arne Slot will be hopeful of landing his transfer targets this time around
“It’s true: Liverpool are interested in Angelo Stiller,” Falk told CaughtOffside in his exclusive Fact Files column.
“Stiller has a release clause in his contract – valued at €36m – which comes into play in 2026. We heard about interest from Liverpool, so they are watching him. It would be possible to get him in 2026. Of course, if they come in with a big offer this summer, it would also be possible to sign him early.”
Stiller is one of the most underrated midfielders across Europe, quietly doing the job for Stuttgart from the No.6 role. He helps Stuttgart tick over with his exceptional passing range, smart reading of the game and ball-winning skills. The German makes a lot of difference with his passes—both short and long, whilst also chipping in with goals and assists from midfield—as evidenced by six goal contributions so far this season.
Liverpool midfield trio Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister delivered an impeccable performance against Ipswich Town.

Set to turn 24 in April, Stiller fits the profile at Liverpool perfectly. The all-action midfield talent from Munich has the skill set to thrive in Arne Slot’s system. The former Bayern Munich and Hoffenheim man would strengthen the Reds’ engine room—a vital area that has seen the likes of Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai flourish, yet still poses questions over lack of competition and depth.

Thus, the Merseysiders could do with a talent like Stiller as his potential acquisition would not only fortify their midfield depth but also align with our gaffer’s tactical flexibility and choices. If Liverpool are ready to be patient, they could snap him up for a paltry €36m in 2026.
However, with several top clubs vying for his signature, including Barcelona, Liverpool cannot afford to wait until next year and must spend more money to bring Stiller to the red half of Merseyside this summer itself.
