Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Man Utd - Premier League

Fresh off a record-breaking victory in midweek, Arsenal travel up to Old Trafford on the hunt for another landmark win.

Mikel Arteta's side are aiming to become the first team in Premier League history to win five on the bounce against Manchester United - once the division's supreme force. They can also claim back-to-back wins at the Theatre of Dreams for the first time in 46 years.

This United team are pretty bad, but you'd be naive to think Arsenal are going to enjoy a similar outing to Tuesday night. The Gunners are going to have to work tirelessly for all three points.

There are no fresh injury concerns from Tuesday's beatdown in Eindhoven, and here's the team we think Arteta will pick on Sunday afternoon.

Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Man Utd

Riccardo Calafiori

Goalkeeper & Defenders

David Raya (GK) - Raya is well in the Golden Glove hunt, and the Spaniard will hope he enjoys a quiet afternoon against a Red Devils outfit struggling for goals.

Jurrien Timber (RB) - Ben White will get a gig soon, but Timber, for now, remains the undisputed number one choice.

William Saliba (CB) - The Frenchman has been a near constant in the starting XI this season. His only Premier League absence came because of suspension. Ubiquitous.

Gabriel (CB) - This feels like the sort of game which could be decided by a dominant Gabriel header from a set-piece. Timber and Saliba were on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture, and the Brazilian found the back of the net in the FA Cup defeat two months ago.

Riccardo Calafiori (LB) - I think Arteta has to go for Calafiori at left-back. Yes, he's a facilitator of chaos and perhaps the antithesis of the control the manager adores. However, this Arsenal team could do with a bit of chaos.

Midfielders

Thomas Partey (DM) - I still think about that Partey performance at Old Trafford from 2020 every now and then. He's no longer that dominant force in the middle of the park, but the Ghanaian remains serviceable towars the end of his Arsenal tenure.

Declan Rice (CM) - Rice was brilliant on Tuesday night, with the midfielder excelling when starting low and progressing high. United's compact block doesn't mean he has to function as a reference point between the lines. Let Calafiori do that.

Martin Odegaard (CM) - Odegaard came to the fore in the second half against PSV, producing his best 45 minutes of football in a very long time. It'll be a different game this weekend, with the skipper's subtlety in tight spaces key from a creative perspective.

Forwards

Ethan Nwaneri (RW) - After joining an illustrious list of young Champions League knockout stage goal scorers on Tuesday night, Nwaneri will hope he can manifest his best form at one of the country's grandest amphitheatres.

Mikel Merino (ST) - Given Arsenal's success last time out, Arteta won't be making a change up top. It'll be Merino, who was back on the scoresheet against PSV, on Sunday.

Leandro Trossard (LW) - Trossard scored at Old Trafford amid his impressive scoring run to end last season, setting up Arsenal's first victory in front of a crowd at Man Utd since 2006. The Belgian was excellent in midweek.
