Rangers fans reckon there could be a hidden clue in Steven Gerrard sharing an image of him with the Ibrox club’s official formalwear partner.

And some have even gone as far as to suggest the soundtrack he chose to go with the snap is a sure sign he’s heading back to Glasgow! Gerrard has been heavily linked with a return to Rangers with the Liverpool and England legend out of work after a stint in the Saudi Pro League.

Gerrard posed with a member of the Suited and Booted retailer with the company the official formalwear partner of Rangers for the last three years. And even his song choice set tongues wagging - ‘Hold On, I’m Coming’ by Sam and Dave. One fan said: “Stevie G just posted this online! Song ‘Hold On, I’m Coming’. Locations of the shop Abu Dhabi, Dubai… and GLASGOW. Are my hopes a little high? Absolutely. Any thoughts on this little tease?”

And another added: “Stevie G with the Rangers suit supplier with this song. Could be nothing but…” Gerrard is favourite to return to Ibrox where he won the Scottish Premiership title in 2021.

He spent just over three years at the Light Blues helm before leaving for Aston Villa and then the Middle East. Gerrard’s old Liverpool team-mate Stephane Henchoz said earlier this week he is convinced Gerrard would be up for another shot at Rangers.

Barry Ferguson is currently in interim charge but prospective new owners the San Francisco 49ers are likely to want their own man in place for next season. Ex Swiss stopper Henchoz, who had a spell on loan at Celtic, said: “Steven Gerrard going back to Rangers would 100% make sense, he delivered at Rangers during his first spell and I think the fans would be pleased. You’d have to ask him but I have the feeling that he wants to go back there because of how well it went and how much he was loved.”

Suited and Booted was launched in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2017 by entrepreneurs Ryan Smith and Calvin Smith, who are from Ayrshire and Edinburgh respectively. The pair brought their brand to Scotland's suit tailoring market by opening a shop in the Merchant City.

The brand has been worn by Rangers captain James Tavernier, former club legend Steven Davis and ex goalkeeper Allan McGregor who is now on the coaching team.
