The Geno Smith trade seemingly eliminated two more potential Russell Wilson landing spots. Wilson, who had been linked to the Las Vegas, and some speculation was thrown around about a reunion with the Seattle Seahawks, will now look to one of his two obvious options.
The Raiders spot obviously now belongs to Smith, so what about Seattle? Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times says a Wilson reunion in Seattle is also off the table despite the franchise dipping its toes into the free-agent quarterback waters. That could include Sam Darnold. It might even include Justin Fields, who the Steelers have notably tried to retain.
Wilson feels like the Steelers' Plan B, and maybe even the New York Giants' Plan B after Aaron Rodgers, which leaves him in a tough spot. He has to wait, but if another offer from a team like the Tennessee Titans does pop up, he might have to take that with no sure landing spot.
Either way, Wilson’s landing spot likely will not come until after either Rodgers or Fields makes a decision on their future since his landing spots are far from guaranteed.
