Everton’s contract situation is something which is now going to come under real scrutiny over the coming weeks.
Big changes are being made at Everton over the next few months ahead of their move into Bramley-Moore Dock.
Over the last 24 hours, Everton have confirmed the appointment of Angus Kinnear, who will make his move to Merseyside at the end of the season.
The Friedkin Group are making some significant changes behind the scenes to the dynamic of the club’s boardroom.
As they near their final set-up, focus is going to have to turn to their contract sagas with a number of players set to leave the club.
But there is one player who David Moyes has now admitted he would like to see remain at Everton for next season.

David Moyes wants Seamus Coleman to stay at Everton
One of the players who is seeing his contract run right down to the wire is veteran defender Seamus Coleman.
Back in December, Coleman admitted he could leave Everton, with no real indication towards a new deal being on the table.

Perhaps the return of Moyes could offer the 36-year-old with an opportunity as extending his time on Merseyside.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Moyes admitted he would love to see the club hand Coleman a new contract for next season.
“You don’t just keep people for the sake of keeping them because if you did every club would have hundreds of old players. But if we had our way we would try and keep Seamus around definitely. Or give him the opportunity to be around, but he may have something else on,” Moyes said.
“Seamus might be a great person to have around as an extra, who if he wasn’t playing all the games might be able to play in the Under-21s. There’re a lot of teams, who’ve gone with that sort of thing. He could also maybe be a coach with the younger boys if that’s what he chooses to do.
“We might still decide to keep him on anyway, but for me Seamus picking up the injuries is the problem. You’re trying to get your value out of the players. We have to do that a bit more here because we’ve had too many injuries.”
Coleman has now returned to training after suffering another injury in what has been a difficult season for the right-back.
Moyes makes Luka Modric comparison with Seamus Coleman at Everton
With Coleman being out through injury, Moyes has praised James Tarkowski’s leadership behind the scenes.
However, Moyes still feels the 36-year-old has a lot to offer the Toffees in a leadership role.
Playing well into his latter stages of his career, Moyes has compared the Irishman’s age to that of Luka Modric at Real Madrid.
“Absolutely and sometimes you have to do the right things,” Moyes said when asked if he’d like to see Coleman stick around.
“Seamus might be required to do that job and he might still be one of the best at it. I don’t think age in football is quite as important as it was years ago in football and look at Modric.”
