We would like to wish all of our readers and supporters a very happy International Women’s Day. We have always been proud to support women’s football on HammyEnd.com and will continue to do so.
We are delighted to sponsoring former Fulham captain Mary Southgate, a Hammersmith End season ticket holder alongside her family for decades, at Ashford United this season. The website takes its name from the most raucous part of Craven Cottage where Mary has watched football and played for years. Following Fulham’s baffling decision to release Mary at the end of last season, we believed it was time for the Fulham fans to give back Mary the passion and commitment she has shown for us over all these years.
Mary’s commitment to the Fulham family was highlighted in the Sky Sports’ [We Are All Fans](https://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2025/march/08/we-are-all-fans/) documentary screened on the night of Fulham’s fabulous come from behind victory over Brentford earlier this season. You can watch this documentary, which has been made available free of charge on Fulham’s official website today. It also showcases the work of the wonderful Fulham Lillies and the club’s amazing Her Game Too Ambassador Amelia Armstrong.
We are proud to support Mary, who has given so much to the course of female football, and female empowerment throughout her life as she also works as an inspirational PE teacher at a secondary school when she isn’t playing, watching or talking about football. She is a regular contributor to the superb That’s So Craven podcast – and we know her career will continue to go from strength to strength.
