West Ham United have started contacts with Tammy Abraham’s entourage as he prepares to leave Roma in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who report that West Ham have ‘already started the first contacts’ about a potential move.
They report that Abraham’s future is yet to be written after a disappointing season on loan with AC Milan.
He had been hoping to convince the Italian giants to make a major investment in him this summer but has only managed eight goals in 35 games to date.
That’s led Milan to cast him aside, already deciding against a move in the summer. That will see Abraham return to Roma, but they also don’t want him.
They believe his time at the club is at an end after they signed Artem Dovbyk last summer, but there is no market for him in Italy, so they need to look elsewhere.
A return to the Premier League is the most likely scenario and West Ham have already started contacts with his entourage about a potential return to London. The Hammers are ‘strongly interested’ but so are Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Abraham would have no issue returning to England but wants to go to a ‘top-tier club’ and whether he’d consider West Ham one remains to be seen.
