Liverpool are flying high this season.

Arne Slot’s men are 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League, and with Arsenal chasing, every win matters.

On Saturday, they face Southampton at Anfield.

A win would put them 16 points clear before Arsenal even plays.

It would be another big step toward the title.

Southampton have struggled all season.

They have just nine points from 27 games, the worst record in the league.

They barely score and concede too many goals.

Liverpool, on the other hand, just beat Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, even without playing their best football.

The challenge for Liverpool is managing their squad.

With the return leg against PSG coming up on Tuesday, Slot might rotate his team.

But even with changes, Southampton at home should be a comfortable game.

The real question isn’t if Liverpool will win – it’s how many they will score.

Liverpool can equal 90-year record against Southampton

Liverpool have been dominant at Anfield.

In fact, they’ve scored at least twice in their last 18 home games in all competitions.

No English team has done better since Sunderland in 1935.

Sunderland managed 19 straight games, meaning Liverpool can equal that record on Saturday.

It’s a ridiculous stat and considering Southampton’s defensive struggles, Liverpool have a great chance to match Sunderland’s mark.

Its highly unlikely for the visitors to win at Anfield with the ever present Kop ready to cheer the Reds one step closer to the title.

With the title race heating up, this could be another historic moment for the Reds.
