Reece James highlights the need to keep building momentum

As the Blues prepare to face Leicester City in our return to Premier League action, captain Reece James has stressed the importance of building momentum as we enter a crucial part of the season.

With a first-leg victory secured during our 2-1 win over Copenhagen in the Danish capital, the focus now shifts to Stamford Bridge where the Blues host Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.

James insists the key to our success will be maintaining the same level of patience and belief that saw us grow into the game in Denmark.

The full-back said: ‘We have another game in a few days against Leicester and now it’s the business end of the season. It’s time to kick on and keep the wins going.’

After scoring the opener in Copenhagen and with back-to-back wins under our belts, the skipper remains ambitious. He outlined the team’s unwavering confidence in achieving their targets.

‘Building momentum is key,’ James added.

‘We have our goals of winning the Conference League and qualifying for the Champions League. I have zero doubts in achieving that. We look forward to our next few games.’
