England make decision over immediate plans for 'outstanding' Arsenal men ahead of Tuchel's bow

Talented Arsenal duo Myles Lewis-Skelly and Ethan Nwaneri are reportedly "set for England promotion" following their stellar breakout seasons, as per the Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel.

Just 18 and 17 respectively, the pair have been integral to the Gunners' performances this season, excelling in both the Premier League and the Champions League. Both firmly rank among the best teenagers on the planet, and fans have called for England boss Thomas Tuchel to introduce the stars into the senior national team fold.

The German tactician is set to announce his first England squad next week, ahead of the upcoming March international break, in which the Three Lions will lock horns with Albania and Latvia for World Cup qualification points.

The two youngsters are in contention for the under-21s and senior team

Nwaneri's emergence as a reliable first-team player has been a huge boost to Mikel Arteta amid the plethora of injuries in his attacker's department. The midfielder has played in the position of fellow Hale End graduate Bukayo Saka on the right wing, and has stunned fans and rivals alike with his performance.

He has managed a remarkable nine goal contributions this term, and is on the brink of national team promotion, having previously featured for the England under-19s. Mokbel notes that Nwaneri is "more likely" to receive a call-up to Lee Carsley's under-21 squad given the host of talent at Tuchel's disposal in his position, though a jump to the senior team has not been ruled out.

Lewis-Skelly has also shone outside his regular position this term. The midfielder was initially deployed at left-back by Arteta to cover for first-team injuries, but his talent and maturity have forced the Spanish boss to drop the likes of Riccardo Calafiori and Oleksandr Zinchenko to the bench in favour of the youngster.

Like Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly has only featured in the under-19s setup thus far, but the shortage of senior left-back options for Tuchel could pave the way for the Arsenal man's first senior England call-up. Mokbel insists that if this is not the case, a call-up to the under-21s squad is expected at the very least.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are hoping to tie down the "outstanding" duo to long-term contracts following their breakout campaigns, and Fabrizio Romano notes that talks are "already underway".
