Ruben Amorim is prepared to turn to Braga's Roger Fernandes if Manchester United fail to sign his top right wing-back target Geovany Quenda, according to Graeme Bailey (via United in Focus).
Quenda has been linked with the Red Devils since Amorim arrived in November, with the Portuguese coach eager to add a new right-winger. The United boss handed the Sporting CP teenager his senior debut, and his development came while he was still at the Jose Alvalade Stadium.
GIVEMESPORT sources indicate that Quenda, 17, is open to joining Amorim's United without European football. But his £84 million release clause will likely be an issue given the financial issues the Premier League giants have endured. This has forced the recruitment team to search the market for potential alternatives, and Roger Fernandes is on their radar.

Roger boasts similarities to Quenda in that he's left-footed, pacey, and has displayed excellent attacking abilities on the right wing. He'll also be a cheaper option as he has a £33 million release clause in his contract with Braga, and it's suggested United could negotiate a more affordable price.
The 19-year-old has been with Braga since leaving his homeland aged 15, and he's risen up the youth ranks at the Estadio Municipal de Braga. He has been a huge asset for Carlos Carvahal this season, displaying versatility by putting in shifts on either wing, excelling going forward, and performing well defensively.
There are huge expectations of Roger amid his stellar showings under Carvahal, who was told he has 'a real gem' by scout Jacek Kulig amid his quick ascension to a protagonistic role. He's bagged five goals and as many assists in 44 games across competitions and his availability will be enticing given United's injury crisis this season.

Amorim will undoubtedly be eager to add more wing options this summer because of the expectation that there will be many departures. Antony, who has been in red-hot form on loan at Real Betis, seems certain to leave permanently, paving the way for the club to bring either Roger or Quenda to Old Trafford.
