Manchester United star set to start for Ruben Amorim for second time vs Arsenal, fans are extremely concerned

One Manchester United star could finally start his second game under Ruben Amorim in the upcoming clash against Arsenal.

Manchester United shift their focus back to the Premier League this weekend as they prepare to host Arsenal at Old Trafford.

The Reds delivered a solid performance in their most recent outing against Real Sociedad but were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie.

Ruben Amorim’s side will welcome the Spanish club next Thursday, but for now, their attention is on Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.

United came out on top in their last meeting with the Gunners, knocking them out of the FA Cup on penalties earlier this season.

At present, both teams are dealing with injury setbacks and squad issues. While United have little left to fight for in the Premier League, they need to find consistency in their performances.

Lindelöf could start vs Arsenal

United will once again be without Patrick Dorgu in this game due to suspension, and the knock-on effect will cause problems for the Reds.

Diogo Dalot will move back out to the left and it is likely that Noussair Mazraoui leaves the back three to play at right wingback.

That leaves Amorim with minimal options in the back three, especially with Harry Maguire being a doubt for the game.

Victor Lindelöf could end up starting at right centre-back alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Leny Yoro after coming off the bench in recent games.

Lindelöf has only started one game for the club since Amorim arrived. It was against Spurs in the Carabao Cup and he came off injured before half-time.

United fans concerned about Lindelöf

United fans would be concerned about Lindelöf starting this game. The Swedish defender has not provided confidence since returning from injury.

He ended up missing a crucial penalty for United in their FA Cup exit against Fulham but it was his struggles in normal play which were more troubling.

Ayden Heaven is the only other potential option to play, unless Maguire pushes back through injury, and it seems unlikely that Amorim would throw the 18-year-old in against his former side for his full debut

De Ligt and Yoro are currently two of the most in-form United players and whether Lindelöf or Heaven starts, they will need to help them to settle into the backline against Arsenal, who will likely test United’s defence.
