Insider Reveals Latest Injury For Dallas Mavericks

Ever since they inexplicably traded Luka Doncic just over a month ago, the Dallas Mavericks have had a string of bad fortune when it has come to injuries.

Anthony Davis, the big chip that came back in the Doncic trade, went down with an adductor injury in his first game with them, and they also lost key big man Daniel Gafford due to an MCL sprain that will keep him out until at least late March.

Then just days ago, Kyrie Irving, their main star and the engine of the team, tore his ACL and will not return this season as a result.

On Friday, even more bad news arrived for the Mavs when Shams Charania reported that forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper injured his wrist and is expected to miss the rest of this season.

“Another injury blow to Dallas: Mavericks forward Olivier-Maxence Prosper has a serious right wrist injury and is expected to require season-ending surgery, sources tell ESPN,” Charania posted.

Prosper was the No. 24 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, and he was traded shortly afterward to the Mavs along with big man Richaun Holmes.

In two seasons, the power forward has averaged 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds in 10.0 minutes a game while shooting 39.6 percent from the field.

Just after they traded Doncic, the Mavs were considered by some to be a dark horse contender in the Western Conference due to Davis’ arrival and their big man depth, but they have now lost five of their last six games coming into Friday’s game versus the Memphis Grizzlies.
