Brenton Strange: Jaguars Tight End Dynasty Outlook

Brenton Strange Dynasty Outlook

Brenton Strange was the backup tight end for the Jacksonville Jaguars last season behind Evan Engram. The Jaguars decided to release Engram in the offseason, opening the door for Strange to take the role in 2025. Brenton Strange’s dynasty outlook is on the rise.

Current Production

After having five catches in his rookie season in 2023, Strange took on a larger role for the Jaguars as their backup tight end in 2024. He had 40 receptions for 411 receiving yards and two touchdowns. These are solid numbers for a backup tight end, and he finished with 111.1 PPR fantasy points, which was good for the TE31 on the season.

Strange had four games in which he had zero fantasy points, but he also had four weeks in which he finished as a top-ten tight end. All four of those weeks came when Engram was out with an injury. Engram missed eight games in 2024, and Strange was a TE1 in half of them. That is a great rate for Strange and very encouraging for 2025.

Strange Dynasty Price

According to KeepTradeCut, a website that crowdsources dynasty values from players that use the site, Strange is the TE24. This is not factoring in that he is now the TE1 on the Jaguars. He is in the same tier as Noah Gray, Theo Johnson, and Chig Okonkwo. Strange has much more upside than these players entering 2025. He is worth an early third-round pick in rookie dynasty drafts. However, expect this ranking to increase in the coming weeks once the Engram release is factored into their rankings.

Dynasty Tight End Rankings

Strange Dynasty Outlook

Strange is about to skyrocket up dynasty rankings with the Engram release and the Christian Kirk trade to the Texans. Behind Brian Thomas Jr., there are not many options for quarterback Trevor Lawrence to throw to. They have Gabe Davis, Parker Washington, and then Strange. Strange is competing with these guys to be Lawrence’s second target behind Thomas.

The Jaguars have to replace 64 targets and 47 receptions from Engram and 47 targets and 27 receptions from Kirk. They have over 100 targets to replace and a good chunk of those will go to Strange. Strange has a very encouraging dynasty outlook for 2025. Strange has two more years on his rookie deal with the Jaguars.

The Jaguars could draft a tight end in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, they will not draft one of the top guys, meaning the best they will do is bring in a late-round player to be a backup tight end to Strange. Strange should be the TE1 on the Jaguars next season.

What to Do With Brenton Strange in Dynasty Leagues?

Buy Strange in dynasty leagues. He will be one of the top sleeper picks in fantasy redraft leagues this year. If your dynasty league is open to free agency right now, see if he is on waivers and pick him up. Strange has a lot more upside than rookies who will be drafted in the third round. Strange will have his breakthrough year in fantasy in 2025.
