Palmeiras were willing to spend $12m on Nottingham Forest forward Ramón Sosa in the January transfer window, but the Paraguayan blocked the move.
That’s according to Versus, who provide more details on the bid for the player and why the move ultimately didn’t happen.
They explain that Nottingham Forest received offers for the Paraguayan in January, from Brazil and Palmeiras specifically.
Indeed they ‘put up a fortune’ for the Albirroja forward and according to Versus information were willing to pay $12m to sign him. Nottingham Forest were willing to accept that bid but another problem arose.
That was Sosa, who did not want to discuss a move or the idea of leaving the Premier League so soon. He wants to continue in England’s top flight, something he has made clear in several interviews.
The Premier League is his dream, and he wants to continue playing there, despite a lack of minutes for Nottingham Forest this season.
Palmeiras then pivoted to Vítor Roque, ultimately paying more than €20m to sign him from Barcelona instead.
